Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum Lafayette, Louisiana
The Art Museum at the University of Louisiana of Louisiana at Lafayette is located at the gateway to the main campus, facing a Louisiana Plantation House reproduction by noted architect A. Hays Town. The building exterior is composed of a glazed glass curtain wall that forms a reflective backdrop for the Town structure and presents a sleek flank to visitors entering the museum. The two-story steel frame is surrounded with 16,750 SF of pre-cast architectural concrete and 4,200 SF of structurally glazed curtain wall. The gallery and support space are constructed of honed Cordosa limestone and clear maple floors that lead through pure white gallery volumes. The museum provides a changing exhibits gallery of 5,000 SF within a total pavilion area of over 30,000 square feet.
Lemoine has delivered several projects to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette including the University of Lousiana at Lafayette Campus Housing project, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Union Expansion and Renovations, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics Tier 1.
