Park Place Surgical Hospital Lafayette, Louisiana

This Design-Build project on the recently completed Our Lady of Lourdes Campus in Lafayette was prompted by the Owner’s need to expand. The new surgical center more than tripled the previous space in the Oil Center location originally completed by Lemoine in 1999 and later expanded to 38,500 SF in 2002. The new 120,000 square foot four-story Medical Office Building was designed with input from Physicians, Nurses, and other caregivers to create the best possible constructed results.

The replacement facility offers 10 inpatient beds, 10 operating rooms, and two procedure rooms. In the new design, holding and patient recovery areas are expanded by forty percent and are separated by walls in lieu of curtains. Waiting rooms, nurses stations, and other support areas are also designed more spacious, allowing the Surgical Center to meet its current demands. Floors one and two are dedicated to the surgery center, and the third and fourth floors will be utilized by Lourdes for an expansion of programs. Park Place is connected to Lourdes’ second-floor surgical unit via pedway, providing a seamless means of exchange for both doctors and patients between the two facilities.
