Delgado Maritime and Industrial Training Center New Orleans, Louisiana

Located on Old Gentilly Road in New Orleans, the Delgado Maritime and Industrial Training Center is a new 18,750 square foot facility. The long-awaited project was funded by bonds authorized in the 2007 Legislative Session. Delgado has provided training and instruction to licensed mariners and industry personnel in the Maritime, Oil & Gas, and Safety/ Homeland Security fields for over two decades.

Scope of the facility includes one two-story building, steel structure, with masonry, glass, and metal panel exterior. Site work and the construction of a new parking lot were also part of the $7 million facility plan.

Delgado states, “The Maritime, Fire and Industrial Training Facility at Delgado Community College has earned a national and international reputation for providing high-quality maritime and industrial firefighting, radar, safety and U.S. Coast Guard-approved training, including full mission bridge simulator courses.” This facility will ensure the future of an already strong program and provide them with ample space to expand in the future.
