Located in Port Allen, construction of Louisiana Scrap Metal included new administration warehouse, baler, crane and maintenance buildings on a 23-acre site. The Administration Building anchors the campus and provides a front door to the public. The two-story, 11,500 sf structure is wrapped in a multi-layered skin that incorporates shifting wall panels, composite metal panels and translucent polycarbonate sheeting. Additional structures consisting of the warehouse, baler, crane and maintenance buildings are pre-engineered, and all buildings are supported by timber piles, pile caps and grade beams. Sitework on the grounds include 52,500 sf concrete dock and barge loading area| limestone areas for work and storage| 278,000 sf heavy duty concrete paving area| and 85,000 sf light duty concrete paving for employee and customer parking.
